The selection of sampling location is very important for the accuracy and representativeness of sampling. In general, the sampling location should cover the different levels of the tank to ensure the comprehensiveness of the sample. Specific sampling locations include:


Top sample: Point sample collected 150mm below the top liquid level of the oil product.

Top sample: Sample taken at 1/6 of its depth below the top liquid level of the oil.

Middle sample: A sample taken at 1/2 of its depth below the top liquid level of the oil.

Lower sample: Sample taken at 5/6 of its depth below the top liquid level of the oil.

Bottom sample: A sample of oil or liquid petroleum products taken from the bottom of a tank or from the lowest point in a pipeline.
